The Challenge
A creative agency relocating to a refurbished downtown Birmingham building wanted to use the glazing throughout their new space as a branding and design element. The brief called for frosted film on internal glass partitions, a custom-printed logo film on the entrance glazing, and a gradient film on the street-facing windows that would create a sense of enclosure for staff while maintaining the building's street presence. The agency's design director had specific aesthetic requirements and needed a supplier who could work to a design brief rather than a standard product catalogue.
The Solution
Solar Busters worked with the agency's design director to specify a three-product solution: Avery Dennison Architectural Frosted Series on internal partitions, a custom-printed Solyx film with the agency's logo on the entrance glazing, and a Solyx gradient film on the street-facing windows. The custom-printed film was produced from the agency's vector artwork with a 2-week lead time. Installation was phased over two days to allow the design director to review each element before proceeding.
